Venue

The 2020 Easter Residential will be held at Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate, Thorp Underwood Estate, York, YO26 9SS. 

 

There is extensive free parking at Queen Ethelburga's.

​

Those travelling by rail Cattal is the closet station ( 5 min drive) to the venue and is a 16 minute journey from York.

RULES

​

Rules relating to students' conduct while on campus are in place for students’ wellbeing and students should read the Rules. A copy will be posted at Queen Ethelburga's. Students are responsible for ensuring that they have read and understood the Rules, and for complying with them.  Yorkshire Ballet Seminars reserves the right to send any student home who fails to comply with these Rules and will not be liable to refund any part of the fees paid in such circumstances.

To the extent permitted by law, YBS shall not be liable to any person for any damage or loss, whether of money or of property, arising from a failure by that person, or by any other person not employed by YBS, to comply with the Rules. However, this shall not exclude or limit any liability for personal injury caused by the negligence of YBS or its employees.

​

 

Disclosure and Barring Service

​

All Teachers, Staff, Accompanists, House Parents and Sports Therapist are DBS certificated.

​

 

ACCOMMODATION

​

All bed linen and pillows are provided, however all students should bring their own towels and provide their own toiletries. There are washing machine facilities available which the students may use with support from the House Parents. 

 

Students in residence will be under the 24 hour supervision of specially appointed House Parents and staff. 

​

The daily class schedule will be on the notice board at Queen Ethelburga's on the day of commencement. 

​

ARRIVAL and departure

​

Residents should arrive between 2pm and 4pm on Wednesday 15 April and should leave on Saturday 18 April at 4pm. We will confirm nearer the time if there will be a shirt sharing of work for parents and guardians.

​

MEALS

​

Daily breakfast, lunch, coffee, afternoon tea and supper are included in the fees.

​

Dance wear

​

All students: normal practice wear and ballet shoes.

Girls: plain leotard, pink tights (if possible) ballet shoes, and pointe shoes.

Boys: tights, fitted t-shirt or unitard and ballet shoes

Please name-tag all your personal property to prevent loss. 

​

Students wishing to swim in the pool should also bring their own swim suit.

​

Student’s money

​

Residential students do not need to bring money with them, but may bring a little spending money.
