Sensitive personal information
Sometimes we may ask you to provide sensitive personal information (such as medical information for students attending our residential Summer School). As with all the personal information we hold, sensitive personal information is held securely and restricted to those who need to use it. We will delete sensitive information when we no longer need it.

We always endeavour to be fair and transparent with how we use your information and ensure at all times that your information is protected.
The personal data you provide may be used:
To provide and fulfil a purchase (including Summer School, events, membership and donations and to provide customer service)
For fundraising purposes (see fundraising below)
For Marketing purposes where specific consent has been given
We will not hold more information than required and will ensure all personal data held is kept up to date and used only for it's specific purpose(s) outlined above.
We will not sell, rent, trade or share your personal data to any third parties for marketing purposes unless we have received your prior permission to do so. Data may be shared with trusted service providers who are authorised to work on behalf of Yorkshire Ballet Seminars. These services may include payment processing, event ticketing, email delivery, website hosting and fundraising. In these circumstances your data will only be used for the agreed services that they are providing.
How long do we hold your personal data for?
We review our retention periods for personal on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations (for example the collection of gift aid). We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.

How we protect your personal data All information you provide is stored on our secure servers. Any personal information retained is kept confidential and stored in a secure password protected database that is only accessible by Yorkshire Ballet Seminars staff who need it to do their job.
As a registered charity, we rely on funds raised from a variety of different sources including individuals, companies, charitable trusts and other grant-giving bodies. The generosity of these supporters enables Yorkshire Ballet Seminars to train exceptionally talented young dancers, from around the world, regardless of their economic background.
Where we believe there is 'legitimate interest', we may seek additional information from third parties before contacting individuals or companies to determine whether there is a suitable reason to engage with them, such as a shared interest or potential connection. We may also use public research to understand the interests of our current supporter's, so we may improve our communication and suggest relevant opportunities to increase engagement with us.
We endeavour to tailor communication and improve the experience our supporters have with Yorkshire Ballet Seminars. To do so we may segment personal data provided (for example in order to send an invitation to contacts geographically located close to the event location), analyse donations made to Yorkshire Ballet Seminars and access publicly available information to build a profile of interests and preferences. This might include: LinkedIn, Companies House, Charities Commission, amongst other legitimate media sources.
