SPRING INTENSIVE CODE OF CONDUCT 

These rules are designed to create a safe and respectful environment, ensuring effective teaching and learning. They provide structure, promote the well-being of students and staff, and help young people to develop responsibility and appropriate behavioural boundaries in a learning environment.

  • Do not invite anyone into the venues or studios without YBS permission.

  • Students are not permitted to leave the venue on their own, including travelling to and from the venue, unless YBS has written permission from a parent/guardian.

  • Students must be respectful to all students, staff and any visitors.

  • Across all of our Spring Intensive venues we operate a strict no nut policy.

  • NO LIVE STREAMING is allowed under any circumstances.

  • The use of mobile phones or other electronic devices are not permitted in the studios during teaching times. Devices must be safely stored away during classes. Photos can be taken after class as long as they adhere to our Media Activities & Social Media Policy.

  • While taking videos and pictures are permitted outside of teaching times, consent must be requested from all those captured in the image.

  • All spaces, must be treated with respect, left clean and tidy after use. Any damage to property belonging to the venues or YBS must be reported immediately to a member of YBS staff, and may be charged to the student.

  • Students must bring a packed lunch with them to the intensive, they will not have the opportunity to leave the venue for lunch. Due to allergies of some of our students, we ask that lunches and snacks are contained away in bags and do not contain nuts.

  • Students are not permitted in areas that are out of bounds. YBS Staff will highlight clearly in which areas students are permitted to be. 

  • Students must adhere to the fire procedures, which will be explained at the induction meeting on registration day.

  • Students must adhere to YBS Health and Safety Guidelines.

  • Personal items must be labelled and looked after. Money and valuables can be given to the Pastoral Lead for safekeeping. YBS will not be responsible for loss of any personal items.

  • Do not touch or use other students' belongings without permission. 

  • Bullying of any kind is not tolerated. Students must read and adhere to our Anti Bullying Policy. This and our other policies can be found on our website (www.ybss.co.uk/policy).

  • Students are expected to be punctual for classes.

  • Alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and vapes are NOT allowed on the premises. If found, students will be sent home immediately. Any student thought to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be investigated and duly removed from the course. 

  • Inappropriate, abusive or offensive language is not accepted. 

  • Students are encouraged to use electronic payments only on site, any students that bring cash are responsible for its safe keeping. The Pastoral Lead can safe-keep money should a student require this.

  • We do not allow intimate contact between students engaging in a relationship. This is to maintain a professional and focused learning environment for all.

  • Students must always follow our Social Media Guidelines Policy and Policy on Media Activities. This will be sent out ahead of the Intensives

  • Students should not be the studios or dance spaces unaccompanied.

  • In the event of ill health while on the intensive, students must inform a member of staff so they can support.

  • If you have suffered an injury, you must consult the dance teacher leading your class before taking part. You may only take part if your dance teacher deems you fit for class.

  • Please inform the pastoral faculty if you have any allergies.

 

Students are encouraged to use common sense regarding these rules. If in any doubt, please ask the Artistic Director or the Pastoral Lead.

Any violation of these rules, misbehaviour or nonattendance to class will not be tolerated. If this occurs, parents / guardians will be notified, and students may be sent home.
