The 2023 Summer Residential will be held at Ashville College, Green Lane, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG2 9JP.

There is extensive free parking at Ashville College.

 

ARRIVAL and departure

Week One 

Arrival - Sunday 7th July 

Departure Saturday 13th July

Week Two 

Arrival- Sunday 14th July

Departure - Saturday 20th July

Week Three 

Arrival- Sunday 21st July

Departure- Saturday 27th July

Week Four

Arrival- Sunday 28th July

Departure- Saturday 3rd August

Staggered arrival times are between 2-4pm and will be emailed out no later than two weeks before the start date of your week

 

Departure time: All parents/ guardians watching the showcase to arrive 11:45am to be seated at 12:00pm. Collection at approximately 1:15pm (after demonstration)

We are excited that this year we will be inviting to parents to a short sharing of the students work at on the departure day of each week. Further details will be emailed to participants.

There are no classes on arrival day

RULES

Rules relating to students' conduct while on campus are in place for students’ wellbeing and students should read the Rules. A copy will be posted at Ashville College. Students are responsible for ensuring that they have read and understood the Rules and for complying with them.  Yorkshire Ballet Seminars reserves the right to send any student home who fails to comply with these Rules and will not be liable to refund any part of the fees paid in such circumstances. 

To the extent permitted by law, YBS shall not be liable to any person for any damage or loss, whether of money or of property, arising from a failure by that person, or by any other person not employed by YBS, to comply with the Rules. However, this shall not exclude or limit any liability for personal injury caused by the negligence of YBS or its employees.

 

Disclosure and Barring Service

All Teachers, Staff, Accompanists, House Parents and Sports Therapist are DBS certificated.

 

ACCOMMODATION

All bed linen and pillows are provided, however all students should bring their own towels and provide their own toiletries. Any towel needed will be charged directly to the students at a cost of £1 per week. There are washing machine facilities available which the students may use with support from the House Parents. 

 

Students in residence will be under the 24 hour supervision of specially appointed House Parents and staff. 

To reduce waste and be more environmentally friendly the students will have access to an online timetables throughout the course and will be able to see changes made through their electronic devices. Any students without a device will be able to view the information which will displayed clearly in areas across campus and boarding houses.

MEALS

Daily breakfast, lunch, coffee, afternoon tea and supper are included in the fees for Residential students only. Meals for non-Residents are available at itemised prices.

Dance wear

All students: normal practice wear and ballet shoes.

Girls: plain leotard, pink tights (if possible) ballet shoes, and pointe shoes.

Boys: tights, fitted t-shirt or unitard and ballet shoes

Please name-tag all your personal property to prevent loss. 

Students wishing to swim in the pool should also bring their own swim suit.

Student’s money

Residential students do not need to bring money with them, but may bring a little spending money. Non Residential students should bring money for lunch and tea.
