🩰 Pointe Shoes
Students in Red Group will have the opportunity to use their pointe shoes during the Masterclass. If your dancer feels comfortable and confident working in pointe shoes, please bring them along.
Students Green Group will not have a dedicated pointe work session. However, they are welcome to bring their pointe shoes if they wish, although we cannot guarantee that they will be used during the day.
Please note: Pointe work is entirely optional, and students should only participate if they are appropriately trained and comfortable working en pointe.

🥜 Food Allergies – Strictly No Nuts
YBS operates a strict no-nuts policy. Nuts and products containing nuts must not be brought onto the premises. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students.
⏰ Arrival & Registration
Please do not arrive too early for registration. We ask that families arrive within the designated sign-in window.
If your dancer is going to be late, please notify the YBS team as soon as possible.
🩺 Injuries & Medication
Please inform a member of the YBS team of any existing injuries, medical conditions or changes to your dancer's health when signing in.
Students must bring any medication they may need during their time with us. This includes medication to support asthma and/or anaphylaxis, such as inhalers and adrenaline auto-injectors (e.g. EpiPens).
Please ensure all medication is clearly labelled and that students know how and when to use it.
YBS will have access to a supply of basic over-the-counter (OTC) medication should a student require it during the day and permission has been given.
👋 Student Collection & Sign-Out
For safeguarding reasons, students cannot sign out and leave the venue without a parent or guardian collecting them, unless the appropriate permission has been provided in advance.
-
Year 11 and above: Students in Year 11 may go home independently, provided we have received written consent from their parent or guardian.
-
Below Year 11: If you would like your younger dancer to travel home independently, please contact us in advance. Requests will be considered on an individual basis and must be agreed by the YBS team before the event.
All students must follow the sign-out procedure at the end of the masterclass.
💙 Pastoral Care & Additional Support
At YBS, the wellbeing of every dancer is incredibly important to us. We want all students to feel safe, supported and comfortable throughout their time with us.
If your dancer would benefit from any additional pastoral care or support during the masterclass, please email us and let us know how we can best support your young person. Our team will be happy to discuss any individual requirements with you.
📋 YBS Policies & Procedures
We ask all parents and guardians to familiarise themselves with our policies before attending. These provide further information about our safeguarding procedures, student welfare, health and safety, and expectations during YBS events.
