REFRESH  NURTURE

"We give opportunities to ballet students with talent and ambition to experience world class tuition and wider learning. Proudly independent, we create a supportive, student-focused learning environment to allow our young dancers to thrive. We build on our rich history of broadening accessibility for all students to experience dance teaching of the highest quality".

DIVERSITY
PLEDGE

Yorkshire Ballet Seminars recognises that there is a need, both by us as an organisation and in the wider world of dance to be wholly inclusive, accessible and to represent the diverse society we live in.YBS supports the work that is being done within the creative industries to address the existing imbalance. As part of this we will continue to monitor our work and how we can further improve our practices and our wider participation so we can be more active in this change.

We actively encourage and support dancers from all backgrounds to apply for our courses, and we are committed to achieving greater diversity across our board of trustees, teachers and all staff who work with us.We envision a world where all dancers are healthy, happy, confident and inspired and have access to first class training. We are committed to providing scholarships and bursaries for our students and these are open to all. We welcome students of all ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion and economic backgrounds.

We strive to be part of the dialogue, to be committed and open so we can best serve our students and the wider world of dance.

PAST STUDENTS

“It was such a huge inspiration for me attending Yorkshire Ballet Seminars and added so much to my training and knowledge of what it would be like to become a professional ballet dancer. When I look back at all the amazing teachers who taught me I feel so lucky to have had that experience while growing up in Yorkshire and I am so glad the School continues to thrive and inspire a new generation of dancers. ”

Student feedback

I had an amazing week and made some great new friends! The teachers were so inspiring and I learnt lots to take away for the future! I would love to go next year if I get the opportunity!

Parent feedback

My daughter loved her week at YBS and really appreciated the quality and calibre of the teachers. They were all so friendly and encouraging.

Student feedback

YBS was my first summer school where I stayed away from home. I was a little nervous but I ended up having the best time ever. I am not a full time vocational student so I was grateful to be offered a place.

Student feedback

My week at YBS was completely unforgettable and I was given so many incredible opportunities to learn from the industry professionals. I came away with a complete burst in confidence, new repertoire which may come handy in the future and new corrections which will help me in the next year of my training.
